8:00 a.m. departure
2:00 return to Wailea (4:00 to West Side)
Alii Kula Lavender Farm:
4000 feet up the slopes of Haleakala is Alii Lavender Farm with 45 varieties of lavender, olive trees, hydrangea and protea. Stroll through the gardens and take in the views and aromas as well as a stop at the gift shop with locally made products.
Tedeschi Winery:
At the 2000 foot level of Haleakala lays the quaint winery at Ulupalakua Ranch. Originally known for its pineapple wine Tedeschi Winery now produces award winning red wines and Maui Brut Champagne. The tasting room is located in a cottage originally built for Hawaii’s most famous King in 1874. Surrounded by many varieties of old growth eucalyptus trees, the winery is picturesque and filled with history.
MAKAWAO:
Known as the “Paniolo Town” (cowboy) of Maui, Makawao was the meeting place of ranchers, farmers and cowboys. It has kept its charm and now boasts many unique art galleries featuring local artists with their paintings, pottery and blown glass.
PAIA:
Paia means “loud roar” as it was the central hub of commerce 100 years ago, mostly built around the sugar plantations which still surround the small town. The colorful
buildings reflect the influence of the 1960’s “hippie” infiltration which now contains Maui’s most unique boutiques by Hawaiian designers and artisans. Paia has become the mecca of European and South American windsurfers, surfers and kite boarders.
Ho’okipa:
Enjoy a view of the windsurfers, kite boarders and surfers at a beach now world renowned.
Mama’s Fish House:
The Hawaiian ambience of Mama’s is unsurpassed as well as its reputation for the most talked about and award winning restaurant on Maui. From appetizers to desserts, the beach location and the décor, Mama’s is the perfect restaurant to compliment your day. (Lunch price not included in tour)
